Juniper Multiverse system

Juniper returns to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) next week with its Juniper Recharge Lounge, a central space for pausing and working. Open to all attendees, the lounge offers a place to recharge devices with Juniper’s Ground Control power systems, surrounded by the ambiance of the Multiverse lighting collection.

Coinciding with ICFF, Juniper is unveiling the latest addition to its Ground Control collection: the Ground Control Under-Mount. Ground Control is a precision-engineered power access solution designed and crafted in Juniper’s Connecticut-based facility and is an elevated approach to in-wall and plug-in power access.

Juniper’s booth will also feature its Multiverse system. Designed and engineered for minimal impact, easy installation and radical lighting control, Multiverse combines aspects of track lighting, low-voltage power distribution and refined architectural trim detail into one unique lighting solution. Joining it is the Cylinders collection, further demonstrating Juniper’s commitment to products that elevate rather than dominate a space.

The company will also host a full schedule of talks and programming on current topics in lighting, architecture and interior design. Juniper can be found at ICFF at Booth #928, May 17-19.

Next month, NeoCon will launch a show-within-a-show in Chicago dedicated to lighting innovation called Illuminate at Neocon.

The new show launches with more than 60 global and emerging lighting brands. From experiential vignettes and expert-led programming to immersive activations, Illuminate explores how light influences materiality, performance and well-being.

Reflecting the 2026 theme Where Design Connects, this 7th-floor addition offers a first look at what’s next in the lighting industry, bringing together ideas, technologies and lighting professionals with the architecture and design community.

“The introduction of Illuminate is a momentous event,” said Avraham Mor, CEO at Morlights and an Illuminate advisor. “We’re excited to be a part of this special opportunity to elevate lighting design at NeoCon and showcase its often-underappreciated impact.”

Experiential vignettes developed by line + form + light, Illuminate offers a five-vignette series that examines lighting as a material force within interior environments. Each installation highlights real-world applications of effective and ineffective lighting design, revealing how light shapes interior spaces through its impact on color, texture, finish, technique and human health.

“These vignettes are designed to deepen the community’s understanding of lighting, revealing challenges, conversations and decision points that shape project outcomes,” said Sohana Arni, Founder and Creative Director of line + form + light, and an Illuminate advisor. “By translating nuanced lighting concepts into immersive, hands-on experiences, we’re offering attendees new perspectives and practical insights that they can apply directly to their own projects.”

Neocon is located on the seventh floor of The Mart in Chicago and runs June 8 through 10 with a preview day on June 7.

A new interpretation of the outdoor lantern is taking ship with Kimado, a collection of lighting fixtures designed by Philip Adiotori of Studio Makia for QU. A project that combines technical precision, formal purity and research into the quality of light, giving life to a versatile system designed for contemporary outdoor architecture.

Crafted from turned aluminum, Kimado stands out for its solid and refined construction. The fixture’s body accommodates up to three light sources, which can be installed in different positions, allowing for modulation of effects, accents and lighting levels based on the design context.

The collection’s distinctive feature is the “transparency” effect generated by the empty space inside the lamp body: a designed void that takes center stage, visually lightening the volume and transforming light into architectural substance.

The Kimado family comprises four variants, all designed for outdoor applications and sharing a coherent and recognizable aesthetic.

The variants include:

Suspension – Designed for suspended installations, this version features dual light emission. The upper light source illuminates an internal reflector with a bronze finish, generating a soft, diffused light, while the lower light source, directed downward, is available with narrow, medium or wide optics to adapt to different lighting needs. Both light sources are designed for use with honeycomb filters.

Bollard – A simple and functional solution for lighting paths. The lamp body is attached to the top of a bollard of the same diameter, for a total height of 60 cm. The single light source, directed downward, ensures effective and discreet lighting for walkways and outdoor spaces.

Paletto – Available for spike or screw installation, this version features a lamp body offset from the support, creating a dynamic and light visual effect. The main light emission is directed downward, ideal for highlighting vegetation and paths. A second lower light source can also be integrated to create additional accent lighting and layering effects.

Wall – The wall version represents the most versatile version of the collection. The mounting system allows for wall misalignments, facilitating installation even on uneven surfaces. It offers a variety of lighting configurations: downward emission for ground lighting, upward emission for wall effects or downward emission for an elegant wall washer.

With Kimado, a lighting system transcends function to become a design tool: a collection capable of interacting with architecture, enhancing space and offering new compositional possibilities through light, according to a company spokesperson.
