Three North American supertall skyscrapers made the news. In Toronto, Canada, the SkyTower by Hariri Pontarini Architects became the first building in Canada to surpass 100 storeys, making it the country’s tallest.
In Miami, USA, the city’s first supertall skyscraper reached the halfway mark in its ongoing construction. Once complete, it will rise a total of 100 storeys, making it the tallest tower in the state of Florida.
In Texas, USA, the supertall Waterline skyscraper by US studio KPF was photographed nearing completion. It has topped out at its full height of 1,025 feet (312 meters).
Most of world’s largest wooden structure The Grand Ring to be burned as “chips for fuel”
In an exclusive interview with Dezeen, architect Sou Fujimoto revealed that most of the structure of his Grand Ring – the world’s largest wooden structure that was designed to encircle the Expo 2025 Osaka – will be burned as firewood.
The Grand Ring was designed to be dismantled, and demolition of the structure has now begun. While 200 metres will be kept, Fujimoto lamented that “70 per cent, at least as far as I’ve heard, they will just demolish and then make it chips for the fuel”.
Rural Outer Hebrides home wins RIBA House of the Year 2025
A stone-clad home in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides has been named the UK’s best new house by the Royal Institute of British Architects.
The home by local practice Izat Arundell was designed to blend in with the landscape and its exterior is covered in blocks of local Lewisian Gneiss stone.

Swedish furniture company IKEA launched a children’s furniture and decor collection at a Miami art week installation. The Grejsimojs children’s collection comprised 33 objects designed by creatives such as Carl Ojertsam and Marta KrupiÅ„ska.
