ZEELAND, Mich. – Furniture design company Herman Miller has expanded its collection with British architect John Pawson.
After its initial launch last July, the company is expanding it’s Pawson Drift collection by adding a new ottoman, occasional tables and a corner sectional.
Pawson said he has always been driven by the pursuit of simplicity.
A recessed solid hardwood frame and wrap-around design offers the new ottoman a refined presence, designed to be admired from every angle. The frame is available in white oak or walnut, with cushions offered in premium textiles and leathers.
The Pawson Drift tables are also designed to give the impression that they are floating in space. This is achieved through a subtle “shadow gap” – a precise space between two horizontal planes, which creates both shadow and depth. The tops are offered in stone or solid wood with oak or walnut bases, reflecting Pawson’s vision of elegance through simplicity. Available sizes include a square or rectangular coffee table and a side table.

“While each piece stands beautifully on its own, the details of one reveal something about the other,” said Pawson, the designer.
The corner sectional adds a new configuration to the collection’s original sofas and the left- or right-chaise sectional. For an added layer of comfort, a responsibly sourced down feather jacket is incorporated into the cushion design, while a sturdy frame and fabric suspension system beneath the cushions ensure lasting support for sitting, lounging or resting.
