We always say the fastest way to update your home seasonally is with pillows and rugs. We tend to cycle through rugs when they’re needed, with three kids and two dogs, so we keep them affordable to do so. But how do you do the pillow part without your home becoming a pillow fort? {AKA too cluttered?} They say pillows are the adult equivalent of a child’s stuffed animals, after all. And they’re really fun to switch around seasonally, too. The key? Today, we’re sharing some of our favorite pillow covers!
A client asked us recently if we had any advice on the best way to do this. As far as pillow covers go to keep them updated, we purchase pillow fillers from Amazon and stay {close} to a standard size when we switch them up. The other covers remain folded up in our linen closet, in the meantime.
We have so much more space after the switch out, as we simply fold and store. As opposed to the alternative, which is a pillow avalanche whenever we need something from said closet.
It’s hoarding without the hoarding since they’re so easy to switch out! Kidding, but it’s also fun to whip out those Christmas pillows and then trade them out for winter and then spring… it’s a fresh look without changing everything up. It’s so fun to pair them; I loved ordering a few to try them out in the space!
It’s easy to mix and match.
A few easy tips:
• Mix up the colors and textures in fun ways.
• Always consider going for contrast with pattern – organic vs. geometric + scale is always a good choice.
• You don’t have to karate chop! Dealer’s choice.
