The office reveal, or is it the sunroom? Whatever you call it, it’s done!! I’m sharing all the details today!

Hello friends!

I’m sharing our new room reveal today. And clearly, it’s still having an identity crisis. lol We call it the office because our desks are in there, so I guess that is what has stuck. However, it ended up becoming more than that with the cozy little corner couch, TV, and coffee/tea bar. So, the “office” just doesn’t feel right. Especially with how sunny and bright it is. It feels like the “sunroom” that just happens to have our desks in it!! ha!

Whatever it’s called. It’s done. Basically, anyway. There are a few more things we want to do, but overall, it’s done. And what a complete JOY it is to work in and hang out in here. So beautifully sunny, with the best view. Wildlife, like deer, squirrels, and birds, and nothing but woods behind us.

This was a major labor of love and something my husband had wanted to do for many years. He worked on it for about a year, then enlisted his cousin’s help to finish it up. They did all the main work, and I did all the caulking and painting. That’s always my job in our projects!! lol

As a refresher, this room used to be our screened porch. It looked like this when we moved in many years ago.

And then it looked like this.

a cozy screened-in porch refresh featuring wicker patio furniture, beige cushions, blue and white throw pillows, a matching ottoman, side table with decor, and views of lush green trees outside.

It’s crazy for my brain to see these! I lived it, and it’s hard for me to even think I’m sitting in the same room as I type this.

a bright, screened-in porch refresh features a round white dining table and four matching chairs. large windows overlook a green yard, and sunlight fills the space, creating an inviting and airy atmosphere.

As another reminder, our old office was one of our upstairs bedrooms. Remember it?? Here is the post that I shared when I gave it a makeover some years back.

bright, modern mid century modern office with white desks, a patterned rug, shelving with decor and storage, a brown chair, potted plants, wall art, and a window letting in natural light.

It was a nice space, but constantly going up and down the stairs is no fun. lol Plus, my view out that window was our front yard and road. Yes, I got to see all the “comings and goings” in the neighborhood, haha, but I much prefer this backside view.

That old office room is going to be my “workout” room. I will definitely share that too once we get it all put together. Think it’ll help me get those workouts in more often?? Maybe walk on the treadmill?? Haha!! I say it will…we’ll see, won’t we?! Either way, I’m super excited to have a dedicated space for that soon.

Alright, let’s take a look!

Let’s start right here.

a bright sunroom home office with a large desk, computer, and plants. two pets, a cat on a pink bed and a dog on a blue bed, rest beside the desk as sunlight streams in—an inviting space for this office reveal.

This is “real life”. Their beds are here, and we (and they) love it just like this.

For photos, however, I’ll move them so you can see everything.

Ryder is so confused, lol. Piper hopped up into her other usual spot, though.

Here it is from inside the main area of the house. We leave the French doors open and push them all the way back. We do use them when we need quiet in the office or when watching TV in here while someone is watching in the adjacent room.

We just love how bright, open, and airy it is in here.

This is my desk. My husband has the other one.

My sweet little printable framed. (In this post here)

a decorative picture frame with a quote sits on a wooden desk in this sunroom-inspired office reveal, next to a small potted plant. the quote reads, there are always flowers for those who want to see them. sunlight streams through the window behind.

And one of my tiny trinket dishes from the “DIY Air Dry Clay” post.

A photo of my sweet Dad and me. I came across it one day, looking at some old photos. Just a super random shot, but very meaningful.

a framed photo of two smiling people sits on a desk next to a vase with a large pink flower and a gold holder with pens and scissors. the cozy workspace, perfect for an office reveal, feels both welcoming and inspiring.

It was taken right here in this house, in the kitchen. But that was several years before the blog began.

My new view while I work. Such a happy space.

a computer monitor on a desk displays a home decor blog. the sunroom desk features pink flowers, framed photos, a calendar, and decor items. large windows in the background fill this inspiring office reveal with natural light.

And here is the other side.

a bright, modern home office reveal featuring a large monitor on a desk, white paneled walls, and a wall-mounted photo of sailboats. natural light streams in through the window, giving this sunroom-inspired space an airy and organized feel.

We hadn’t originally planned to have a TV in this room, but later decided to. I’m SO glad we did! It is also a Frame TV like the one in our living room. When we watch it, we just rotate it around since it’s on an adjustable wall mount. We do plan to put an actual frame around it at some point. (It will be attached to the TV, so when you move it to watch, it will stay attached.)

The copier is coming down, and I think we are setting it on top of this new cabinet I got. We needed a filing cabinet and a place for the copier, so this one fit that bill.

a corner of a modern sunroom with a window, wooden dresser with gold handles, a woven basket on top, a wall-mounted beach photo, and light green and white walls.

In the old office, we had shelves with books. I’m planning to put a few floating shelves on this skinny wall above the filing cabinet to display books and other decor. Maybe 3 shelves. I’ll share that once I do.

Aren’t the little shelves on the back of the desk so cool??

two white desks arranged in an l-shape in a bright sunroom office, each with a chair, computer, plants, books, and decorative items. windows flood the space with natural light, while a patterned rug completes this stylish office reveal.

I love this feature, and it’s one of the main reasons I went with these desks. Since this is a room in our main living area, I wanted it to be a little more decorative, rather than just looking at the backs of two desks. I can’t believe I found these. They’re perfect!

Not only that, they have cubbies! Who doesn’t love extra storage space??

a white wooden cabinet with a closed door sits in a sunroom, a shiny conch shell on its shelf and a couple of old brown books below. light from a window brightens the scene.

I keep things we need at the coffee bar in them.

two metallic brown canisters labeled airscrape sit side by side on a white shelf in the sunroom, with books and a shell visible nearby.

Speaking of the coffee bar. We moved it in here since we changed the other room it was in.

a light blue dresser in the sunroom holds a coffee station with a coffee maker, mugs, glasses, and supplies. above, two white shelves display cans, mugs, a basket, and a plant. a starburst decor hangs on the white wall.

It is set up mostly the same with a few little changes.
We all absolutely enjoy this space. Coffee, tea, so many options. All of my favorite things!

two ceramic mugs sit on a countertop in a cozy sunroom. the front mug is light blue with the words let your faith be bigger than your fears, while the pink mug features an inspirational bible verse. a lamp and woven basket are nearby.

Love these two mugs I found at Hobby Lobby last year. And how perfect are they, also being the exact same colors as my blog/brand colors??

You might recognize some of these things from my “Things I’m Loving” posts today. (If you missed them, you can see them here and here.)

a cozy coffee station in the sunroom features mugs hanging above, a coffee maker, electric kettle, glass honey jar, coffee syrups, sugar jar, plates, and utensils arranged on a blue countertop.

For the windows, we’ve decided to install tall white curtain panels on each side of each set. They can easily be pulled closed at night, etc. I’m pretty sure we will get them at IKEA, but I’ll update when we do.

a bright living room with large windows, a white door, a white sofa with pillows, and a small round side table holding a potted plant feels like a sunroom sanctuary. light patterned rug on the floor, trees visible outside.

Also, I have considered something in the space over this door, but I just don’t know what. I’m in no hurry, so when it comes to me, or when I come across it, I’ll know. Do you have any ideas??

Finding this cozy corner couch was the best thing ever, too. I had originally planned two small armchairs with a small round table between them. This is so much better.

Found the perfect-sized ottoman for in here, too.

a tan leather ottoman sits on a patterned rug, topped with a woven tray holding magazines. behind it, in this sunroom, there is a white couch with blue and white pillows, a blue dresser, and a door with sunlight streaming through the window.

For this back wall, I decided to use a board-and-batten style and paint it white.

a modern office area with a brown chair, wooden desk, and a large abstract landscape painting in soft pastel colors hanging on a white paneled wall—perfect for an inspiring office reveal.

And this is the reason why. I just could not see this aqua dresser up against the “Oyster Bay” paint of the walls. I didn’t want to paint the dresser another color because I love it, so I went with white walls on the back instead. However, I didn’t think that would look right, so I decided to add board-and-batten, and I’m so glad we did. I love the added interest and details it adds.

bright living room doubles as a sunroom, with a white sofa, beige ottoman with wicker tray, blue sideboard with coffee supplies, open shelves with cups, and large windows. cozy, airy, and inviting decor perfect for an office reveal.

We raised the ceiling, and it got shiplap.

a white shiplap ceiling with two rectangular skylights and a modern ceiling fan with wooden blades brightens this sunroom, featuring green walls and large windows.

And skylights! So much glorious sunshine. YES to that.

I’ve never been happier in my life than the day I was finished caulking and painting all of this mess!! haha!!
No, just kidding, but sort of not. That was a lot. I’m just happy to have it done.

It was a long time coming, this one. But here we are. It made a huge change to our home. And amazing the light it brings into the rest of the house. Not to mention how much more open our home feels with this new room off of our main living area. We both just love it!
