Turned the key, stepped into the day— woke up *here*, but not like yesterday. The foyer breathed differently, walls were thinner, like it had shrunk and split open beneath the squeak of floorboards. I missed the obvious, didn’t I? All that drywall shifting, paint peeling back to reveal something hummed there— a door in the ceiling, a window in the floorboards. You’ve been here before, but not like this.
