Summer i found — a short introduction to this piece.

Summer i found: Quick Notes

How would you like a Christmas aesthetic that’s equal parts Nancy Meyers + Coastal Niece + Coastal Auntie + HGTV? I’m glad you said yes! Let me introduce you to The Summer I Found You Christmas aesthetic for this year. I scoured the internet for the prettiest decor and best deals. These items are pulled from Walmart, Target, Pottery Barn, McGee & Co., to name a few. If you read my book, you’ll understand why the holidays at Aunt Lil’s house are so significant. I honestly can’t wait for you to read it. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will feel an incredible connection to this family.

The main characters of The Summer I Found You and what they love at the Holidays. Dahlia loves to make handmade ornaments and bake, while listening to Frank Sinatra, because it reminds her of the past and the people she once loved. Noah likes to decorate the exterior of the house with a colorful array of large bulbs that can be seen from space (you’ll have to read the book to understand the meaning), featuring his handmade wooden figures on the front lawn. And Harry, well, all he wants is bacon-flavored treats tied with a large red bow.

And Lil, if she were still here (RIP Diane Keaton), she’d place a large bright red gingham bow right on top to match her wingback chairs. She’d make her famous dried fruit wreath with greens from the yard and hand-paint beautiful, handmade ornaments like this because she was the artist in the family.

In case you missed my COVER REVEAL, I’ll include it below for you. I absolutely love my cover designer, Kate Birch; she is an incredible artist. You can read all about my book HERE. And if you know someone who loves a good beach read, with a Nancy Meyers vibe, this book would make a great gift. Yes, it won’t be out until April, but you could print it and pair it with a gift card to Dunkin or Starbucks. Just think how happy they will be when April comes and they get happy mail. Pre-orders are so crucial to debut authors. It informs bookstores and retailers like Target that my book is worth stocking in their stores. And wouldn’t that be something if I found my book on the shelves!

**Whispers of Sunlit Sleigh Rides**

You hummed through July’s golden haze,
a snowflake’s chill in the lemonade’s cobweb bloom.
The thrifted market boughs, dusted with dew,
sold cinnamon dreams in mason jars.

Your sweater—knitted moonlight, forests of yarn—
breathed cedar where the sunflowers swayed.
Ornaments spun from river stones,
strung on twine like constellations undone.

A ribbon arced across the July sky,
haloing everything warm and worn.
We shopped through whispers of pine and sage,
each tag a map to a December we’d never unsee.

The calendar turned, but the heat lingered—
a hearth, a snow-dusted letter, our breath in between.
