Anthropologie Inspired DIY Candles You’ll Want to Save

Inspired diy candles — a short introduction to this piece.

Inspired diy candles: Quick Notes

Welcome back to my new series, What Would Dahlia Make—a 12-day series spanning the next few months, inspired by my main character. The Summer I Found You is a beautiful story of love, grace, and forgiveness. It’s Nancy Meyers meets HGTV in a found family romance filled with mystery and intrigue. You can read the full blurb here.

I’ve coined Dahlia “the Coastal Niece” because she’s not traditional, and she’s a bit of an outlier. But a loveable outlier, you know, the kind you root for. She’s a true underdog story, which personally is my favorite. Okay, getting back to the Anthropologie DIY candles inspired by her affection for the past, anything old & musty and handmade. These candles are so simple to make. If I can do it, so can you. These ideas can also double as holiday gifts, so be sure to pin this for when you’re ready.

This is everything you will need for this project. If you upcycle your vessels, you can save some money. The products listed above can be found in my DIY Store.

These enamelware mugs I bought for just .$89 at a thrift store while in NC with my son. The amber coupe glasses I scored at Savers. Those were $2 each. I couldn’t pass up the color, especially for fall. You can watch a fun video tutorial from Dahlias’ POV.

I attached the wicks using the stickers that come with them. The wax beads make this project SO simple. You microwave it, and it’s ready to pour. I have a bowl that I use, which will now be designated for candle making. They recommend adding 45-60 drops of oil per 4 cups. I’d say lean towards 60. You can use any oils, but I used THESE.

A tip for using wood wicks. Once the wax has cooled and hardened & trim the wick to 1/8″ -1/4″ from the wax base. I watched a video where someone used a blow dryer to push the wax down further. They say that too much wax will snuff the flame. I had to pour some out to make a mote. Once I did that, it worked much better.

I love how they turned out! I even named them. These are called Campfire Candles. The amber ones I named Coupe Candles. I was looking for more rounded ones in a pretty color. I’m sure if I keep looking, I’ll find them.

What do you think? Pretty cute, right? These would be really cute for the holidays in a bag with a small gift card attached. It’s the thought.

Happy day, Jen
