Yup, you heard right! I received book praise for The Summer I Found You from a New York Times Bestselling Author (and design friend). I’ll give you a clue: she began as a home design blogger, then embarked on her author journey. She has 12 books published, with her lucky 13th, Summer State Of Mind, coming out in May. Okay, okay, it’s Kristy Woodson Harvey. And I’m beyond grateful for this book blurb.

Praise for The Summer I Found You
“A beach house rich with family secrets, a charming coastal setting, and a swoony (and handy!) neighbor in for the season combine to make The Summer I Found You the perfect sun-soaked read! Jennifer O’Brien’s delicious debut captures a woman standing on the edge of heartbreak and possibility—and maybe even finding everything she never knew she wanted. Make sure to slip this one into your beach bag!”
—Kristy Woodson Harvey, New York Times Bestselling author of Summer State of Mind

If you like a good beach romance with lots of scene setting, characters that feel like friends, interiors that come to love, and secrets that have secrets, then The Summer I Found You is for you! Some tropes include forced proximity, age gap, found family, bucket list, and love after divorce. I like to say it’s Nancy Meyers meets HGTV in a second chance romance with a down-on-her-luck art curator, an unruly rescue, and a handy hunk of a reality star neighbor.
There also happens to be a story arc for the blue hydrangeas that line the front of Aunt Lil’s beach house. There is a before and an after, and oh boy, if I didnt like blue hydrangeas before, I certainly like them now.
Starting today, we are 3 months away from my PUB day! It feels surreal since it’s been 5, almost 6 years in the making, and close to 2 years since I signed my publishing contract. A few housekeeping things, if you live in the tri-state area, I’d love to meet you in person. I am doing a few local events and one in Orlando. More dates to come, so stay tuned. Once I have all the dates, I’ll do a post. The first is at the Next Chapter in Huntington, NY, on April 7th, my actual PUB DAY! The next is at Pelligrini Vineyard with A Book Place. The next tour date is at the New Romantics in Orlando on April 17, then I’m off to New Jersey at Thunder Road Books on April 30th.

Happy day, friend!
