Residential project dubai: Quick notes

Fashion house Maison Margiela has announced the launch of its first residential project, shown in this reel created for the brand by Dezeen.

The French luxury fashion label unveiled plans for a luxury living complex in Dubai earlier this year.

The label has explored design and interiors in previous years, such as in a previous collaboration with wallpaper brand Omexco. The house also previously designed the interiors of a custom suite in the Les Sources de Caudalie hotel near Bordeaux.

However, this project marks its first venture into residential housing. Developed in partnership with the Alta Real Estate Development, the project is located in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah archipelago.

The development comprises 25 bespoke residential units designed by Maison Margiela, which make use of materials like travertine and white resin.

Gold detailing was used to contrast with the largely white exterior.

The interiors of the house were designed to continue the palette of the exteriors, with a minimalist furniture collection created by Italian architect Carlo Colombo furnishing the space.

Colombo’s collection encompasses items ranging from lamps to beds, tables and seating.

The development is set to open in March 2028.

The residence coincides with the opening of a new Maison Margelia Cafe in the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, part of the brand’s wider expansion in the region.
