Colorful christmas lights — a short introduction to this piece.

Colorful christmas lights: Quick Notes

Confesssion: I haven’t really felt that IMMEDIATE compulsive need to decorate for Christmas right after Halloween this year. I’m more in the mood for the occasional craft. For a slower weekend. For bubblebath-save-my-sanity season. And I think that’s more than okay. Light your torches and bring out the pitchforks because I’m failing over here. Or maybe I’m winning? Probably the latter. This year I’m more, “give me a minute, mama’s tired.” But then my daughter reminded me {as if I needed to remember} that this is her last year at home. So, of course, I’ll be bringing the cheer, just at my own pace. One of those ways is my favorite Christmas lights. I get a ton of questions about them, and I thought you may want to know all about them, too. So without further ado: my favorite Christmas Lights!

This post is simple today, but I thought it would be good to share something fun and spread some good cheer. {This is an affiliate link, so that I can continue to share all the fun things. Thank you for understanding!}

These lights really give that colorful, vintage vibe without the fire hazard. I’m all about some incandescant lights these days, but these guys perform so well and hold up beautifully. This is a glimpse of our mantel from last year, and I’m sure I’ll be pulling it together shortly. But in the meantime… a fun idea for all things color!

I love these so much that when it was time for these to come down last January, they went into the cabana. For Mother’s Day, I asked the kiddos to help me clean, and it’s such a cheerful little area to look out on all year. These photographs don’t really do them justice, but they’re festive no matter the season. I’m not even decorating the cabana for Christmas this year, because it’s already jovial. Unless I decide to add the pink Christmas tree at the last minute. I have issues.

But this is your reminder, if you were wondering this year, that you should definitely use color.
Color is never a bad call when it comes to everything holidaisical.

{Check out our stained glass monograms here! } Perfect for ornaments, gifts, and more. However, I didn’t feel good about adding them to our already-crowded {in the very best maximalist way} mantel. I loved adding this freestanding stocking holder here. Similar stockings here. + More about our entire mantel.

So when I went ahead and ordered another set, I thought I should share them here. Aren’t they so fun in the cabana?

Even the packaging is adorable. For the full look on our mantel, I ordered three sets of lights. And the same for our cabana, since I just pulled them there. I found a white cord for these on Amazon. And I purchased the cord for Christmas, here.

So use a little color this year! You won’t regret it. Have an inspired day!

**Ode to Ephemeral Fire**

They hum awake in the marrow of night,
ruby veins tracing dawn’s forgotten hymn—
each bulb a wingbeat, a fleeting vow
to paint the hollows where shadows pine.

Golden threads weave through frosted lace,
ghosts of summer swallowed by starfields’ breath.
They don’t just glow; they *remember*
the shapes of joy, cobwebbed and bright.

Fog drinks their blush, a slow, sweet hunger,
while windows bloom with borrowed suns.
A child’s hand, a grasp, a spark—that’s all—
and the ache of wondering: *Was this enough?*

Ah, mortal flames! You flicker, expire,
yet linger as ghosts in the retina’s dark.

Your ‘Ode to Ephemeral Fire’ is a tender tribute to the fleeting beauty that dances upon our darkest nights.

In twilight’s hush, they softly gleam,
A canvas painted, bright and dream.
Ruby, emerald, sapphire bright,
Dancing stars in velvet night.

Tinsel rivers, gold and fair,
Twinkling whispers in the air.
Garlands woven, bold and free,
A symphony of light for me.

Frost-kissed branches, aglow,
Whispering tales of long ago.
Joy in every hue they weave,
A tapestry the heart believes.

Oh, the best of Christmas lights,
Guiding through the darkest nights.
Warmth in colors, pure and true,
A beacon shining just for you.
